Friday, November 21st - lunchtime
Before lunchtime, Lucius travelled to a small, shabby inn on the countryside. It was a Wizarding inn, and the Muggles that zoomed past it in their cars on the road a little way off couldn't see it at all. Just on the outskirts of a small, and equally shabby, village, its owners just barely made the ends meet. Officially. There were often some business transactions of the shadier kind taking place in the shadows, and Lucius knew for a fact that for a small sum, the staff would look the other way and purposely forget who their clientele were should anyone ask.
Here he met with what looked like a man in his late twenties, a man that he had found through a certain friend of his. Apparently he lived alone, had no family, and could be rather vicious. And of course, he would gladly take on a little job against payment. The recent activities of the Ministry had made it almost impossible for him to get any kind of job.
They agreed on a price, to be delivered when the job was done Lucius said to the other man's dismay. But when he protested, Lucius made as if to leave and find someone better suited for the job, and the matter was settled.
Lucius gave him the date and the place for the work in question, and also instructions on how to behave and what to do... He told his henchman that he would meet him at the back of the inn the evening after the job was finished to give him his reward. That done, the younger man bared too-pointed teeth in a grin and left.
On his way out, Lucius stopped to exchange a few words with the barman, and while doing so, whispered a memory charm when the man was grunting a few words in return. It was not until Lucius had left the inn that the man stopped staring at the bar counter and shook his head. He frowned slightly, feeling as if he'd forgotten something, but somehow it didn't feel important to find out what it was. It would come back if it was important, he decided and continued to wipe glasses.
