okey, this is a rant about two cats I've known who have died, and you don't care- don't bother reading anymore.
okay, so when I started working at the vets office, there were two cats who lived there as office 'pets.' Crazy Cat and Sophie, Crazy was a little pale calico who had been attacked by a dog and lost her tail and all nerve sensations on her rear, and had to wear diapers. And there was Sophie, a long haired dark cali who was the most mellow, and affectionate cat.
Several months into working there, Sophie was diagnosed with cancer, and shortly after that she was euthanized for her own sake. In that few months before, I got really attatched to Sophie- she followed me around when i mopped and swept, and when i had a free minute she sat at my feet untill i gave her my full attention. When she was put to sleep, i was working that day, and she was curled up in my arms when we euthanized her.
Crazy, the other office cat at the time, took a while to allow me to really pet her and change her diaper. Afterwards she chased the mop and attacked my feet whenever I walked. Sophie and Crazy got along quite well, but never really sat or stayed close to eachother. Today when I brough my cats in for a check-up, I played with the 'new' office cat who came shortly after sophie died, and then asked where Crazy was hiding. A little after I left the office, she got an infection that she couldn't fight, and when they tried to surgically help her the infection had spread to far.
so, basically the two members of the office who welcomed me the most, and didn't give me crap or anything have both passed away... but i just wanted to put this out because I'm really sad, and also upset that I wasn't informed when crazy was really sick which wasn't long after I left, and I still saw most of the people who worked at the office a few times a week, and I always asked how the animals there were doing.
