The emptiness that instills,
The ache that throbs,
The feeling of chills,
Happiness it robs,
Laughter left behind,
Sorrow in the heart,
Hands in a bind,
Life torn apart,
Watch the world pass,
The silent suffer,
It happens so fast,
Can it get any rougher?
Stuck in place,
Can't lift a foot,
Every smile on my face,
I smear it with soot.
