While conducting my usual server routine, I had the pleasure of waiting on the nicest 8 top family. Three adults, five kids. The three younger girls, not older than 7 were so excited to be able to order their own meal. As I brought out their pizza, chicken tenders, or little timer burgers, one girl looked up at me and said "I love you!" You can understand the child's excitement.
The girl sitting next to her starting laughing. I asked her what was so funny and she looked at me and said...
"That's silly. You can't love someone for what they do, you love them for who they are."
That was the best advice I've ever heard from a six year old, and some of the best advice I've ever heard alltogether.
