Hey guys, I've got some seriously rough news. The ComedySportz theater in Hollywood has become a victim of the economy and is scheduling to close its doors for good.
ComedySportz LA has been running in Los Angeles for 22 years, and has expanded to the wider community in the form of workshops and the ComedySportz High School league, a program I was proud to be apart of for four years.
This program and the people who ran it have been such a huge part of my life. My coaches, my refs, my counselors at ComedySportz camp - all of them influenced me so much and helped me become who I am today. This show - these people - this theater - all of it - it's the greatest improv place in Los Angeles for so many reasons.
To be honest, I don't think I can imagine a world without ComedySportz. My life would have been vastly different without this group, and I feel like so many more kids have benefited and could benefit from this theater and what they do.
ComedySportz has sent an e-mail to all its loyal fans asking for help. Not for handouts, but for patronage. They're selling packs of discounted tickets here:

Please, if you can spare the money, I can't think of a better cause to give it to.
This is a group that teaches the world to say "yes, and", and inspires everybody to get up and take a risk. They certainly taught me all that.
If you're in the LA area, please go see some of their amazing shows. "The High" is one of my personal favorites, and ComedySportz is always a riot. It will be well-worth your money. It's the best improv in Los Angeles.
If I could fly back from NY right now and go see two shows a night every weekend, I would. But right now all I can do is spread the word and tell you just how much this place means to me.
Thank you so much.
The tickets are $50 for FOUR tickets. A group can get together and go see AMAZING theater for $13.333 a person. It's a great date night, it's a great friends-night-out - I promise that you will get MORE than your money's worth.
