Again, this is not going to be a second-by-second concert recap post, but there will be concert pictures in it. And there will also be pictures of the city of Stockholm in there, because I feel the need to share the beauty of this Scandinavian capital.
Stockholm/Sweden
On Tuesday morning, November 9th, my friend and I left Helsinki for Stockholm. A friend gave us a warning before - the weather was going to be horrible. When we arrived at Stockholm airport, it wasn't that bad, it was just very stormy. But while we were still sitting int he taxi that took us to our hotel, it began to snow. It would not stop snowing the whole day, it would only get worse ...
We didn't know what to expect when we arrived at the hotel. Check-in time wouldn't be until 2pm, but we arrived around 10am, so we could only hope that we could at least leave our luggage there. But what a surprise when the desk clerk told us that our room is already ready and waiting for us - nice! When my friend noticed that she'd forgotten the shirt she wanted to wear, we decided to go to a shopping mall to get her a shirt and maybe some tights for me. But looking out of the window - our enthusiasm left us almost completely:
We went anyway and took the chance to check out the venue on our way. We got back to our hotel with a shirt and tights and a good amount of food. It was warm and cozy in the room and we didn't leave it until we eventually had to go to "Debaser Medis". We arrived there 2 hours before doors were supposed to open and since my friend had her M&G in Stockholm, I had to face the cold and the storm and the snow alone.
Well, not really alone since the line grew longer and longer with every passing minute. The first hour was bearable, the second hour felt like forever, but eventually the doors opened and we could escape the freezing soddenness. Once inside I noticed that there were two small steps right beside the sound booth. Since I had such a terrible experience in the crowd in Helsinki it was an easy decision for me to make - that would be the place to be for me. And it was an amazing place! I could see above all heads and arms and had a perfect view to the stage. The venue was small and everything seemed to be very close, even if I was standing in the back. And it was an amazing show!
Awesome, right? :)
I woke the next morning to the noise of shattering glass in the bathroom. Well, nobody was hurt and it was time to get up anyway. A hesitant look through the curtains revealed the truth - it wasn't snowing anymore, yay! We could actually do a bit of sight seeing in the beautiful capital of Sweden!
It was a cold gray day and we had a few drops of rain at the beginning, but it was way better than the day before! We went to the Central railway station to store our luggage
and from there we made our way to "Gamla Stan" - The Old Town. That's a very lovely part of the city, that dates back to the 13th century. We wandered around and here are my pictures.
Crossing the bridge to Gamla Stan. "Storkyrkan" on the left, "Riddarhuset" on the right:

Some general impressions of Stockholm and Gamla Stan:
After some confusion at the Stockholm-Arland Airport, we finally found our gate. My friend met some Finnish fans there and we said goodbye for a couple of days. She would come to Germany for the next GNT concerts. I got on my plane and above the clouds I was greeted with an awesome sunset.
Goodbye Stockholm, goodbye Scandinavia. I hope to see you again some time, when it's nice and warm. :)
