What a lovely fic to read before bed. Great ending. Great few last lines.

If it happens like this in the show I'll be very very pleased. *sigh*

This is by far the best Barney/Robin fic written from Ted's POV I've read so far. IT IS OVERFLOWING WITH AWESOME! I'd love to quote back all my fav parts, but then I'd just be quoting EVERYTHING.

My favourite bit by far was Ted and Robin on the roof, and Ted being a douche and mentally kicking himself for it. Of course, bringing back the Marshall toe-thing and Barney's childhood story was BRILLIANT. Everything was just so believable, in-character and hilarious and touching. And the battleship metaphors were GOLD. I'm adding this to my memories for many more future reads :)

You could seriously write for the show - you've got all of the characters down so well and the plot is so very original and yet so very HIMYM. Well done!

That's pretty much my dream. I'm actually toying with the idea of sending this in to the studio or something, but I'm sure they get enough lame attempts like that from wanna-be writers. I'll probably have to be happy with writing when I feel like it, and watching as much of what I've already written later happens on the show. That whole "what's up with Barney" conversation in The Stinsons? I'd totally written that in this fic days before I saw the episode. It didn't end with finding his mother, but still.

Alright, I'm done daydreaming, THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWESOME REVIEW! =D And I'm glad you liked the Ted/Robin bit, because I was most nervous about the flow of that scene. Thank you again!!

Hehe, who knows maybe some day you'll write for a whole new show?! It's great that you were able to anticipate a scene like that...you must write more!!

Seriously, if you are interested in TV writing what you should do is write a speculative HIMYM script and try to get an agent. I worked reading scripts at Warner Bros. and no, they won't accept unsolicited stuff... personally, writing a HIMYM script is part of my screenwriting portfolio I'm putting together. You should think about doing that, too.

How did i miss commenting on such a great fic in the past?! *scolds self*

This was great! Ted's voice was spot on, just wow. Everything was wonderful, and one of the best aspects was that you got the Barney & Robin "i love you's" out without making it mushy! Ted's "why do i even speak?" made me giggle, as well as Lily answering "Marshall" when asked what they were talking about. lol. Really Loved it. Great job!!

Okay, I have to say that the plot of this fic is well and good, but what really made it stand out to me were all the little touches. Just things that felt so "show" they made me smile and buy into seeing this in my head as an episode. Gotta note some of my favs ( ... )

Thank you so much! I must admit, I make myself giggle all the time, and these were some of my most giggle-worthy moments, too. =D Thank you again for the review and the advice! After hearing that you're working on a HIMYM script for a portfolio, too, I feel especially honored that you enjoyed my little fic!

Eh, it's not like working on a script makes me any better of a writer than anyone else. Just practising as much as possible. What good will a Masters in Film Production be if I don't also have the goods to back it up?

Hey, I know what you mean by giggling at stuff you write. It seems lame, but you know, the characters just take over and then you're not sure where their little comments come from. I've definitely giggled at my own HIMYM fic, so no worries ;)

Haha good, I feel less lame. =P And I'd love to read your fic; I'm assuming it's on your journal? I'll be checking it out soon!
