101 in 1001

This year I am going to undertake the 101 in 1001 challenge. The challenge involves creating a list of 101 goals and then completing them in 1001 days. I actually started the challenge last year, but I decided that I wanted to start over. I didn’t decide to restart because I was failing, in fact I was actually doing pretty well and I am fairly confident that I could have achieved them if I had kept working on them. You may be wondering why I would decide to restart if I was really doing so well. There are several reasons. The main reason I decided to restart is because I’ve decided to wait on some of my goals. Although they are still important to me I’ve decided that there are other things that I want to focus on right now. Perhaps when I am done with these 1001 days I will put them on my next list. The other reason that I decided to start over is that I wanted to keep a record of my progress here on LiveJournal. I think sharing my progress with the world will help keep me motivated. The fact that I will have to report failures here will make me even more determined not to fail.

I am done with my list, but I am not 100% satisfied with it so I have decided to give myself until the end of January to edit. Until then I can change it as much as I want. After that I am going to stick to my rule that I can only change one goal to a goal that is equally challenging or more challenging and that I can change vague goal to a more specific goal. I will create a separate post for my list.

I am planning on primarily writing about my progress and experiences with 101 in 1001 along with tips for working on the challenge. I will probably also occasionally write about other things. I was going to create a separate blog to write about 101 in 1001 and just write about my life and things that interest me here. I decided that most of the interesting things I’ll have to write about will probably be related to my list and that I wouldn’t have enough other things to write about. So I will write about both here. I’ll use tags to mark posts related to 101 in 1001 if that is all you are interested in reading.
