But I'm okay with that (and not at all surprised because I procrastinate like a freaking champion)! The reason I'm okay with this Deadline Fail is because I managed to get a lot of work done anyway, and even came up with a few delightful twists. I'm happy with the work so far, and even though there are parts that I'm not so happy with, I know that I will improve upon them when I start revisions. Which I'm really excited for, by the way. I love revising! I never thought I would actually enjoy revising so much. It always struck me as a tedious process, but it's not, at least not for me. I find that when I'm revising, I come up with more sophisticated and interesting ideas. There's something about revision that brings out the best writer in me. I can say the same for showering and taking long walks.
My new deadline is the end of the month, and I think I will definitely meet this one. Here's hoping I don't slack off too much since I'm so incredibly good at procrastinating. And for all the procrastinators out there, I leave you with this awesome procrastination chart from
Hyperbole and a Half (a hilarious new site I stumbled upon that you should totally check out.) It's uncanny how accurately this chart mirrors my thought process.
