So, thankfully
mswn was able to give me a handy lesson in all things Korean (read: how not to be a total twat when it comes to naming your sims), and I have hereby seen the error of my ways, that being my trusting the internet at all to help me accurately name sims whose culture I admittedly know only a small amount about. Tae Yun = Taeyeon, aka the name of another member of SNSD alongside Yoona, so it is a girl's name (it's also incredibly easy to invent Korean names, because they follow easy rules--no need to look them up on names lists :)). And yes, Kim is actually a surname, but it's a pretty easy mistake to make living in a Western culture where we assume it's a first name. Especially as some people over at SimSecrets are adamant the Korean girls they know go by Kim when in America (although admittedly a foreign exchange student would probably just give herself an English name).
My main issue is that her surname, Seoung, seems to be romanised wrong. I would write Seong or Sung or Song, but Seoung seems like Song mixed with Seoul. You wouldn't pronounce "Seoung" as "Song" or "Sung", you'd pronounce it "Sohng". I understand you not wanting to change it, and it's your game and I won't make you do anything, but it's just strange, romanised that way.
Heajung/Hyejung (the latter is the more common romanisation), her new name, is very pretty! It suits her, especially as she's such a pretty sim.

Thank you! ^-^ I couldn't decide between Heajung and Hyejung but I thought the former looked prettier, which is why I went with it. :P

They're both pretty! You could also romanise it Haejung. :) Hangul is rather amusing when it comes to romanisation, though it tries to be orderly sometimes.

Oh I know, romanising hangul totally baffles me. xD Thank goodness Japanese is more straightforward, I'm much better at it anyways. :P
