(no subject)
I can't believe the weekend's over. Where did it go?
Friday night I went over to dallandra's to help her get ready for the garage sale they were having Saturday morning. We had a lovely chicken, which she cooked in her turbo cooker. It was really quite good! Saturday morning was absolute chaos. The majority of the people who came were pretty scary, but we made a fair amount of money and we won't have to do it again. I would have brought a whole lot more crap though if i'd known how many people were just interested in crap.
When the garage sale was winding itself down we picked up Gwen and drove over to Ajax for dallandra's friend Sarah's birthday party. That was nice, Sarah has a really gorgeous house which actually makes you consider living in Ajax, lol. I wish sometimes though that people would be more respectful of the fact that you might have a different opinion than they have. I have a constant battle with that in my personal and professional life though, so that's nothing new.
After we had visited with Sarah for awhile, we went over to Kathy's house, who is another friend of dallandra's. That was pretty fun, although the majority of the people there went to highschool together and it was hard not to feel like a bit of an outsider. I wish I'd had friends like that in highschool. Not as much those exact people, but friends like that if you know what I mean. After we'd hung out for awhile we went down to see the Unionville festival fireworks. I was really surprised, I'd gone and seen Toronto's Victoria Day fireworks and these were SO much better! The place where the fireworks were was really quite nice too. Kind of made you want to live in Unionville. First Ajax, now Unionville? lol
Sunday I went to the Pride Volunteer Orientation at the Delta Chelsea, which was good. I was accompanied by metabonkers, which definitely made it more fun. I'm looking forward to volunteering. I wish I had a community like that, that I actually fit into. Then I went grocery shopping and spent the entire night on the phone talking to people, which was nice. Especially Natasha, I miss her so much. I really think we have to do something about this distance issue.
Tonight I have ballroom dancing, so hopefully I'll learn how to do the cha cha properly this time, lol. I'm going to have to start doing reading for my next test tonight :/ I'm looking forward to this week though, Wednesday I'm going out after kickboxing with my friends from my Crim classes. I talked to Peter last night and we might be taking one of the same classes in the fall, which would be great. Friday I'm going to lunch and a movie with Lyn and then to the Taste of Little Italy with Gwen, Al and probably Steve too. And then on Saturday I'm going to a matinee of Mama Mia with Steve and he's invited me to go with him to his friend's graduation party in Mississauga, but I'm debating whether to go or not. I may complain about being too busy, but I just love having so many things to do and so many people who want to do things with me. It looks like I'm really going to have to do readings in all my spare time though, lol.
