I distracted myself from the sad day that was today by finishing my latest project...which is to say, my newest youtube video!
The song is "Crucify My Love" by X Japan...which is an awesome song, fyi. As if my posting it a couple weeks ago and referring to it as "400 degrees of awesome" wasn't any indication of my thoughts on the matter...

I did a couple things new in this video...the most obvious being that I actually showed myself instead of just my hands or an artsy shot of the music stand or something. Definitely put the pressure on, I'm surprised I got a take I was "satisfied" with as "quickly" as I did. I also tried a multiple angles approach mainly so that I could cut away from my face whenever I make weird faces while I'm playing. I actually recorded with 3 cameras, but I only used 2 for the video cause I got lazy when it came time to edit. Unfortunately, the cameras were such different qualities that I feel like it almost...doesn't look believable that it was one take? It really was, I had all the cameras running at the same time and I played the whole song beginning to end.
And it just figures that after I quasi-agonized over what to wear, I cropped the videos so you can't even see what I'm wearing. Also, part of my motivation for showing myself was my awesome red hair (which you can see pretty well in the front angle shots) and how hott-damn-skinny I looked in my outfit. But again, you can't even tell cause of how I cropped it. Ooooooops. Oh well.
