Good weekend ... Good God!!
I had a great weekend. I am tired though, so tired that I called into work. Haha I feel bad about doing that, but then again I don't b/c I needed my sleep. Man ... Galveston is so nice on the weekend. It's been so long since I've gone there that I've forgotten just how nice it is. I told Ranjana that she needs to take advantage of living in a beach town; that if I were her, I'd be @ the beach EVERY DAY spending my "daily time" w/ God!
The first night, we hung out on the beach w/ the Galveston crew by a bonfire, & just chilled. Gabe & I wandered for a little while & ended up on top of a sand dune, & we just sat there looking @ the ocean & talking about our life. It was nice, b/c I've gotten to know EVERY ONE in the group pretty well, BUT HIM! Ya know? I won't go on & on about him, b/c ... I am attracted to him. But ... I don't want it to turn into anything BUT a simple attraction, B/C I know that he lives in Galveston & I in Huntsville (that's a LOOONG distance, for those of you who don't know), b/c I JUST realized that I am not supposed to be w/ Chris, & b/c I decided to take this semester off to spend time w/ God. There are so many reasons. So we won't elaborate on any more of the time spent w/ him out on those sand dunes/piles, except to say that I had a good time, & we are just friends.
Second day & night: chilled/ate a great din @ Ranjana's house we were staying @/went to the Strand & walked around & had ice cream @ the old-fashioned ice cream place. There was this guy who wore this awesomely bright yellow, ruffled dress shirt, & was playing a violin, w/ a scruffy looking but cute dog @ his feet. The Strand is an interesting place on the weekend! So many diff. people to see, & diff things to see & do. :) It was good. The food & the stay @ Ranjana's was equally if not better than the Strand hehe b/c ... 1.) me & Devorah had our own room, 2.) we ate & ate & ate, or so it feels like it, 3.) Ran's parents were AWESOMELY nice & they are from India yet they are Christians! (how cool is that?!) They have Christian names, even!!, 4.) It was great to have space, as well as a nice shower. :)
That night, Gabe had to fly into Dallas to pick up a car, then drive back, so we all just kinda hung out @ Ran's house (me, JG, Devorah, Johnathan, Ranjana, & Ryan). @ around 10:30 or so, we all went to pray by the water. It was so peaceful (except for the mosquitos), & God was truly there. Ryan said that this was the first time he'd TRULY felt God in that strength! :) Yay.
Sunday: went to church @ the Moody Church, one of THE most beautiful churches I've prob. ever seen! :) We went to eat @ Golden Corral afterwards, & that was nice. I ate all the dessert I could get my hands on ... yum! :)
To sum it up: this weekend was great. I am so happy that God placed these people in my life. I wouldn't change anything that happened this weekend for anything. :) Yay.
