For fanfic, since you said you caught the K/S bug, try the K/S Archive, there's some awesome fic there, some from the new movie (as it started a fire under writers, but most is still TOS. There's also trekiverse, but that's a little harder to navigate.

Um, as for TOS episodes, let's see, and this is in no particular order: City on the Edge of Forever, Amok Time, Plato's Stepchildren, Balance of Terror, The Enterprise Incident, Naked Time, This Side of Paradise, What Are Little Girls Made Of?, The Trouble With Tribbles, The Enemy Within, The Conscience of the King, Space Seed (if you've seen Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan, this is the episode that sparked that), Devil in the Dark, Errand of Mercy, um, I could go on, is that enough for now? For ones to avoid, if you never see Spock's Brain, you'll be happy with your life.

Hmm, I found the K/S archives.. there are just so many of them!

Thanks so much for the TOS episode recs, I have gone through about half of what you mentioned. The acting were just amazing! The interactions between the crew ... Why haven't I discovered these before?

I have picked up few of the ST books, when I don't have my laptop I am reading the #47 The Kobayashi Maru by Julia Ecklar...

I love that one! Kirk's solution in that is way better than the one in the movie. And Scotty's is awesome. I was disappointed by the KM in the movie. I didn't expect it to the be the exact same solution, but Kirk was acting so immature it was a total turnoff. It's like in three years he didn't grow at all. I always admired Kirk's creativity in that test and suddenly I didn't admire him at all.

If you can find them, The Vulcan Academy Murders and The IDIC Epidemic (they kind of go together) are also awesome novels. So is Crisis on Centaurus (which gives a great look at how McCoy and Kirk might have met). A lot of the earlier ones are really great, when the books were written by fans because they loved it, not just to make Paramount money.
