Quotes and stuff...

Just some responses to a few quotes that have tickled my fancy.

-"Dogs come when they're called; cats take a message and get back to you." Missy Dizick and Mary Bly

This is so totally true. OZ is the prime example of this typical cat behavior. OZ knows his name. He knows it quite well. He knows other words too. Go to your potty, lay down, sit down, give me a kiss, things like that. But if he's laying down and just chillin' in the sun taking it easy, he will completely ignore you until he decides to respond. However, there is one tell-tale sign that I know he heard me and I know he "took the message". If you call out to OZ...he will most definitely wave his tail at you. Even if he is in a deep sleep...he will still wave his tail at you. So adorable.

-“There are two means of refuge from the misery of life - music and cats.” Albert Schweitzer

Mr. Schweitzer was an intelligent man to be able to verbalize this amazing truth. Music takes you a way into another realm of calmness and purity and joy and relaxation. But it is cats that make other realm so enjoyable. Just sitting back, resting your eyes, with a cat in your lap who is in turn resting their eyes, while listening to Mozart or Chopin. It's an awesome, other worldly experience. You feel as if you and your cat are experiencig the same journey together.

Cats are amazing. Especially my two cats.

Now, here's a quote that I would like to see if any of my fellow kitty lovers can expound upon. Comment with your experience...kitties are always wonderful topics to talk about.

“Your cat will never threaten your popularity by barking at three in the morning. He won't attack the mailman or eat the drapes, although he may climb the drapes to see how the room looks from the ceiling.” Helen Powers

Also, if you are like me, then you enjoy reading quotes and sayings...for different reasons. Here is a link to a great database of quotes....http://www.onlinediscountmart.com/quotable-quotes.html

Until next time...keep a song in your heart and a dance in your step! Huggs to all...Austin
