Back in Santa Cruz
Anah and I got back to Santa Cruz tonight. During the car ride, we started listening to Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality the podcast; we're on chapter 16 now so Harry has just begun defense class. It's pretty exciting since it's her first time. I love this fic so much.
Anyway.
We both applied to be animagi a few days ago and we'll be in the second batch of September. Exciting!
It was a long drive from Arcata to Santa Cruz and it was a little stressful. It's nice to be home, though, and I'm ready to get into gear and do some math and play game and stuff. I need to talk to my players about how my game will change fall quarter. I'm going to run a game of 13th Age, which is a D&D spinoff from the lead designers of 3e and 4e. Sort of a 4.75 to Pathfinder's 3.75. Anyway it looks pretty good to me and Anah's created a sweet character that we're excited about. I'll be setting it in Eberron and I don't know what the plot is going to be like yet so I couldn't give her spoilers here if I wanted to.
I've got a whole bunch of a fic about Lily training Neville to be the chosen one written, and I want to start posting it soon, but I need to post my other fics to sugar quill and I REALLY have NO IDEA how I'm going to keep writing that one. I'll probably start typing it up for ffnet soon, at least what I have.
My favorite foods in Humboldt were:

The Local Beer Bar, at which we didn't eat it just has GREAT beer.
I really loved the beer there.
