Lying in bed this morning with TamTams was amusing. She was obviously very playful while I wouldn't say know to a few more minutes sleep. When asked, "Where is your lion?" She responded by pouncing to where my hands was, clearing indicating her choice of toy this morning and complete lack of interest in the toy lion I keep on the bed to entertain her.

My morning routine: Wake up. Take meds. Feed cat. Feed me. Take more meds. Wait for meds to kick in. I'm often still half-asleep and on auto-pilot when doing this now. Sometimes I hate that, sometimes I don't, most times I don't think about it.

Back to my amazing cat: TamTams knows when I need love. After eating her breakfast she came to find me and sat kneading my leg through the duvet, purring loudly. I love my cat!

Dr Swart, my surgeon, phoned my mom to find out how I was doing. Apparently he tried to phone me but couldn't get through - strange. He suggested phone Dr Maurel, my oncologist, about the fevers as he felt they wouldn't be connected to the treatment. Mom did and Dr Maurel wants to see me Tuesday. He's also more concerned it could be the tumour as opposed to the meds causing the fevers. In the meantime, he's going to phone the treatment sponsors directly and find out the recommended breaks between dosage changes. He thinks 2 weeks is too long, particularly if the dosage isn't going to be changed.

I get another lecture from mom about being so negative instead of positive when I remind her that we were warned that the tumour could grow before it shrank. I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic. I don't want to build up expectations and hope too far, I couldn't deal with crushing disappointment right now and my folks even less so. Why don't they get it?

This evening I visited @terridcCT in Milnerton Medi-Clinic. She broke her ankle roller-skating in her house. She's been joining the roller derby girls out in Sunningdale and occasionally practices at home as she's still getting used to her skates. She's scheduled for surgery tomorrow and we joke about how she's going to have to mark the foot to be operated on so they don't do the wrong one.

Back home again it is more episodes of The X-Files and then bed as I'm still feeling very washed out from all the fevers this week.
