I finally knitted something for myself. A scarf.
End of last year I found 2 balls of this beautiful varigated yarn - pinks and greys with a metalic sheen thread through it. Cotton in feel it would hold lace patterns very well but the varigation would overwhelm most simple lace patterns and I was looking for something beyond my normal
Checkerboard Lace pattern, which is nice but now boring. A more complicated pattern would overwhelm the colours in the yarn and I really wanted to play them up. I also have a thing for geometric patterns so it had to appeal to that too.
So after a brief search on ravelry I found the beautiful
Withig Scarf pattern - simple enough for me to knit in front of the TV and interesting enough to prevent boredom. It also showed up the beautiful colours of the yarn so happiness all round.
I knitted the scarf at half width and with my current favourite slip stich and lace edging that prevents the edges from rolling.
