Sickly this morning. Stuffy head, yukky me.
Got the kids off to school and preschool.
Matt had gone to the car yard to pick up the car Alex was looking at buying for $3300. The Nissan Pintara.
He had it back here by 9am, just as I got back form the school run. I took the car to Andrew at work. It felt like a bag of shit. Not a nice car to drive. It coughed, and pulled badly to the left. Matt had gone to work at Gary's investment house at Springfield. The doors weren't closing properly, and tiles were coming off, or something.
Andrew looked the car over. He said the right front (driver's) tyre was cracking around the edges. Also, there are two different tyres on the front - illegal - must be the same treads. The CV joints were buggered. Leaking from the oil, and the brake cylinders. The speedo worked, but the odometer didn't - illegal. It said the same km traveled when Matt picked it up, as when I took it back there. Some other things, too, and that was without even putting it up on the hoist. Also, the car dealer had put his trade plate on it, and the car is registered already. Andrew said that is illegal too - the current registration overrides the trade plate, but having it on there, if the police pulled me over, they could book me for driving an unregistered vehicle via loophole. Bunch of stupid bastard car salesmen. Arseholes.
I drove it back to the car yard, and told him if I had got a ticket, he would have been paying it. I told him my hubby would turn up this afternoon to discuss the car with him. He tried to get me to chat about it, but I refused, and said "talk to the hubby".
I went home to lie down. More sinus tablets. Matt was home just after lunch. We had a lie down and a cuddle together. That was nice. He picked up Storm from preschool for me, then David called. They were at the shopping centre, so he picked them up. Then he picked up River and Blade from school. He dropped them home, the picked up Alex from work, took David and Missa and Rose home, and he and Alex went to the car yard to extract Alex's deposit. They got it. Apparently, they weren't too happy with their own mechanic when they read the report Andrew had written.
Alex was a bit disappointed, but Matt said he could drive the commodore around for a while, now that David can't. So he's happy with that. It would be just sitting there not being driven. If David hadn't got his license suspended, we would still be looking for a car for Alex, but there's no hurry now, and I don't think we should be in a hurry to look anyway. I'd rather we take our time, and get something without rush, and a bit more decent for the money he has to spend.
John made enchilada's for dinner. Yummy, but I couldn't eat a lot, with all this snot running down the back of my throat, I feel like I've already eaten and am full. AAARRGGGGG!!!!! YUK.
Yay! Roswell Season 3 that I's ordered arrived today. I've been hanging out for this. Will be curling up on the lounge and watching a few episodes tonight before bed.
