Day 17

Slept in.
Matt went to look at the wreckers.
When he got back, John went to BCF, and we went to the Museum with the kids. The Cricket Ashes Urn is on display there from today for about 2 weeks. It was a bit of an anti-climax... The Urn is only about 7.5cm tall. It is SO tiny...

Rang my brother, Allyn, for his birthday today. He's in Sydney.

We came home to get the picnic stuff and Gypsy. We drove to Wivenhoe Dam for a picnic, near Esk, and then drove around to Somerset Dam as well. A long drive, but enjoyable - for Matt and me at least - the kids wanted to stop in every park we passed, and if we didn't stop, they complained and wanted to go home.

Finally got home about 4:30pm. I had a headache from the sun, so I retreated to my room with air conditioning blasting away, and lay down. Not for long - Norel called, so there went an hour. Then Nicky called, so there went another hour. Then mum called, and I managed to keep her conversation short - gracious!!

John had made roast beef for dinner, and I ate half of it, since he always piles up the plate. I refused potatoes too. Just ate a bit of beef, peas, carrots and corn.

Matt called his sister, Kate, to discuss their dad's 80th birthday next Sunday. We are going to an Italian Restaurant/Pizzeria for dinner on Saturday night. Missa said she'd look after the boys for us.

Back to TV veging...
