i love reading about your chronicle. I too am running a gloria mundi related mage story with the Boston book. My player loves the setting and I borrow some ideas and elements from your stories. It is very helpful to read your work. I do have some non-story/ rule related questions. I think you can help because in both our games we got players with 5 dots in Arcanum. I got a PC with Time 5, Space 4 and another one with Matter 5. so here are some of the questions we ran across ( ... )

OK, let's kick this pig.

Question 1: Shifting the Sands
Does shifting sands undo spell effects on the mage casting the spell? Example, on the first turn the PC goes first and performs some action and the villain casts a harmful spell on the PC with a non-lasting effect. On the second turn, the PC wishes to cast this spell and rewind to last turn and act again before the villain the casts the harmful spell. The PC claims that because time rewinds itself everything between the casting of shifting sands and his action on the first turn is undone thus freeing himself from the harmful spell. Does time rewind all activity back turn or does the spell simply push the “character”, not the universe, back an action? The spell description states that if a PC gets shot and rewinds 1 turn, they are still shot. Is the bullet still in the PC’s gut after the PC rewinds time? Does the shooter in the alley, after the rewind, suddenly get a sense of déjà vu and his gun loses a bullet? What is really going on in this spell effect?OK, I actually asked ( ... )

The same Matter 5 mage wants to use Greater Transmogrification to transform the air around a foe into solid matter, like amber. This spell is instant and uncontested and if used in this fashion and can kill NPCs near instantly via suffocation. With 4 or 5 successes the mage can transform vast amount of air into solid matter. It seems unfair when the PC transforms an Olympic size swimming pool worth of air above an enemy sanctum or the foe themselves into solid rock and crushing them. Are there any tips for dealing with this abuse? Am I reading these spells wrong? What’s the duration on Greater Transmogrification.

Wow. Bye-bye, Wisdom. Killing other people like this is possible, but it's still murder, and mages who murder go crazy and lose functionality (not to mention that Paradox might hit harder).

The Duration for Lesser Transmogrification is one scene, so I've got to assume that's the case for Greater, too. As for the abuse of power you mention, yep, that's a problem. But it's a player problem, not a game problem, I think.

great, that helps alot. I like to ask couple more questions.
Death
How do you handle the situation where a NPC dies (sleeper or mage, usually violently) and a PC with Death arcanum in the same scene wants to cast "speak with the Dead" then "Summon lesser Ghost". What is the process/rules for when people die? how long after death until a ghost in twilight appears? who becomes a ghost versus a soul travelling on? what is the stats for a new ghost and what kind of state are they in (lost and confused, normal, angry)? how do you handle that in your stories?
Space
What does Co-Location look like? I read that your players use this one. The mage book says that the co located "cloness" are insubstantial. Are they invisible, transparent, or life like in appearance? It also says that the duplicates perform all same actions as the real mage. So if the real mage walks forward 10 feet, does all his clones walk forward 10 feet or do they just stand there frozen? If the mage talks all clones speak the same dialogue, who hears them?
