Sophie was not insane. So she hadn't left her apartment all week. Not with a killer fog out there, thank you, she'd grown up... well, somewhere with fog. Fortunately her apartment was right above her place of work, so if someone *had* come in, she would have dealt with it. And she was an excellent shot, but not against things like... well. She wasn't sure they were real, but she wasn't about to chance her aim against gorilla-centaurs.
Mostly she dealt by ordering a great deal of take-out. Not that that was unusual. As well as by composing mental tirades to Geoffrey, should he choose to call and check in. Doing fine, really, I'm considering escaping via Portalocity. Various bizarre creatures in the fog. Reminds me of Paddington Station. And you? And by the way where the hell are you?
Instead she watched out the windows, and slowly smiled as the fog began to lift around dusk.
