She was good with Lucas, who was somewhat like a child. Calming.

I'd be afraid of nature too, if I were her. Its a good thing she didn't see the pigs.

I'd be a little skittish of nature too, if I ever came that close to dying in the thick of it.

CM has such interesting one off characters, like Kelly and John Blackwolf, among others, who are deeply impacted by their brush with the cases, that I wonder about them. Kelly is just who grabbed me first, so to speak.

This line in particular:

Her therapist has her read Of Mice and Men, after she’s detoxed enough to concentrate. She cries, getting tears and snot all over the last few pages.

I see this as her being folded up in the aftermath, and slowly unfolding into a new shape, like a worn origami peice. Like she isn't sure what she'll do next.

I keep wondering what would happen if she ever reads "Flowers For Algernon". It's a great book and the character of Lucas on the show reminded me very strongly of Charlie in the beginning and the end. The same as he reminded me of Lennie. I recommend it if you haven't read it, very good, very sad.
