Prefolds question

I know a couple of you reading this have used prefold diapers.... The only thing I am worried about is them containing a particularly messy poop... Any input???? Experiences? tips?
He is snoozing in a Fuzzibunz now and it fits him very nicely!

Have you tried just the trifold method? I honestly didn't care for prefolds, but that method worked the best when we did prefolds. As far as the poop at this point most of Nyla's poop is hard enough to just dump right of the diaper and if needed a little rinse in the toilet. Hope it all works out!

I just tried the butterfly fold on him and it seems to fit SO much better... Now we will see how containment is with this fold, lol

I really liked the angel fold with Nyla, but that might be different with a girl vs boy. What kind of covers are you using. I looked through my stuff and all I have is girly covers and stuff. If you don't care I would gladly send what I have, although it isn't much. Otherwise I will just keep around and maybe sell some day. Let me know! Do you like cloth so far? Have you washed yet?

I just now experienced my first poopy dipe in cloth, lol
Thank goodness he was in a BumGenius rather than a prefold, because the kid exploded!
I am seriously buying a diaper sprayer for cleaning them, lol

I much prefer pocket and AIO diapers, but the prefolds were way cheaper, I'll try the tri-fold; that's making it a triangle right? Otherwise I like the cloth and his eczema is already almost all gone!! I haven;t washed them yet I ordered Charlies Soap but it isn't here yet so I am going to buy a thing of All Free & Clear, what do you use?
I don't mind girlie diapers but my husband is a bonehead about that stuff ;o)

We used all free and clear for a long time but had a lot of issues with build up because of our hard water. I now have switched to planet with a half a cup of calgon and I am in FLUFF HEAVEN. I love cloth diapering and now that we don't have to wash hundreds of times to get clean and rinsed completely I love it even more! I highly recommend planet especially with hard water

Keep me posted about any dipes you are going to sell.

We do have hard water and I have been concerned about it ruining my diapers. Where to you buy the Planet? Do you just throw the Calgon in the wash in one of those little ball things or do you run the wash twice?

Calgon is just a powder, you put in with your soap. I get it at k-mart, the planet you can order online or I got it at a local grocery store. I just run a wash with both then rinse with a little vinegar and tea tree oil then one more rinse. I used to have to rinse and rinse and rinse in HOT water. Now I don't. I will definetly keep you posted about the diapers!
