Since my friend
elaine_alina has written up a lovely illustrated report of Terpsichore at the Tower, our local SCA dance event which took place last weekend, I'm going to be lazy and link to her post.
Here's her report:
http://elaine-alina.livejournal.com/37619.html I had a great time at the event. Having gotten in much better shape and lost a lot of weight in the past year, I was able to do a lot more dancing this time, which was awesome.
I was also pleased to see how much better I looked in my purple tunic than I have in the past. Well, here, let me show you:
The first pic is a candid taken at Terp 2 years ago. The second is from a screenshot of the video linked below. Same outfit, nearly the same pose, but a lot more belt dangling, and a lot less extra chin.
Here's a link to a video of a class I was in, with Gwommy's somewhat convoluted choreography for a (non canon) verse of St. Paul's Cathedral. If you want to skip the teaching and go straight to watching it done to music, see the links in the video description (or just start around the 34 minute mark).

Here's this year's Terp Cake, a copy of my friend Gwommy's boot, in honor of his elevation to the Order of the Laurel at the event.
Several years ago, at Crystal Ball, Gwommy was unable to find his keys at 4 or 5 am when they were ready to leave the event. After spending forever hunting the entire site for them, it was eventually discovered that they had been in his boot the entire time.
In memory of this, certain persons asked me if they could put some sour candy keys near the boot. I didn't see why we couldn't put them in/on the boot.
