There’s always a particular song, lyrics or a poem which defines your life perfectly. Mine are -

‘Searching for my twin soul,
                  I have travelled a mile.
                 Breaking hearts on the go;
                Though it’s never mine! '

The moment I read it, I knew it belonged to me. It happens to me lot more times

Love it.

So, I used to be totally addicted to the thrill of the chase, the allure of the new. I was a hardcore serial monogamist.
I'm with you, there is nothing, NOTHING that feels like the initial dance of flirtation - the first time eyes meet, then fingers, and lips... and so on.
And every new love had the possibility of being the BIG love...until they weren't.

I broke a lot of hearts too, and it wasn't without guilt - I felt terrible after catching some poor soul up in my hurricane, pouring it on thick and then realizing this shiny thing wasn't THE shiny thing.
For years.

Over time, I realized though, there is NO WAY to know someone in a just a few weeks.
It is only with months, years, of shared experiences does someone truly reveal themselves - their strengths, their darkness.
There is something really juicy in getting to that delicious hidden self, being the confessor that hears the deepest sins, the saint that comforts their bluest blues.
I guess you just have to meet the one that challenges you enough to stay because you know there is something more they haven't revealed yet.

Thanks! I am happy to read this comment of yours. It makes me feel accomplished. I struggled with the voice here , I wanted my character to be a smooth talker...also wanting him/her to flirt with the reader at the same time ( I don't know whether I could pull it off)
