Okay first off, I just want to say how much I obviously love the Twilight series. Stephenie Meyer freaking rocks and I have to give her so much props for writing such an amazing series.
Now, on to the movie. For anyone who might not know me, I am a huge movie buff. I am extremely interested in movies and television and spend about ninety percent of time either watching one of my favorite shows, or DVD's that I bought. So I am extremely picky about my movies, especially the ones that are based off of a favorite book of mine, and I have to say that I was incredibly impressed by the Twilight film.
I am not saying this to be mean, because goodness knows I can go off on an hour long debate about how badly they botched Eragon, but you have to understand that a movie can not be made just like a book. Certain scenes can't be shot the way you might want them to be, or it could be very boring for the plot line if they continuously shot in the same set room over and over again, so they change things up a little and take certain liberties as artists.
Personally, I very much enjoyed the movie. Were there certain aspects I think they should have added? Most defintely. For example, the bonding time between Alice and Bella when they are in Phoenix. I wish they would have actually shown that, and I wish they would have shown the rest of the Cullen's at the prom, but it doesn't really ruin the movie for me.
I loved the chemistry between Edward and Bella. It was oozing all over the place. Especially that kiss scene! I needed a moment to remember to breathe the first time I saw it. They were amazing together. Ashley Greene was perfect. She was exactly how I had pictured Alice and I was very pleased with her performance. She was adorable. Rosalie, I don't really even know what to say. She played the part well, I truly saw her as Rosalie, so well done. Emmett was hilarious and I was so glad that they had Kellan Lutz for that role. Carlisle and Esme were beautiful and were very sweet together. I melted a little when Peter F. first came on screen, he really looked like an old movie star. Jasper was so good. I loved the baseball scene with him flipping the bat around, so mmmm.
The cast was amazing and I loved the story. I'm not saying it was perfect, but as a movie based off of a book, they did an amazing job. I really enjoyed it.
