I've noticed a lot of atheists (in the religious sense of the word) who truly love the book Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. We take the role of our beloved Jane to heart, and in doing so, we take no offense to her developmental nourishment of religious zeal. Hers is an attitude that begins with an annoyed revolt and ends with a strong spirit, harboring utter devotion and unwavering necessitation of righteousness. We take no offense because we see in the book that religion is a symbolic tool. It represents the change within ourselves from child to woman and what alliance we maintain to always hold ourselves accountable. We hold ourselves accountable to our hearts. We hold ourselves accountable to our homes. We strive for the righteousness of life. Those are the types of female readers that I see ever clinging to such a heroine.
There is so much I think I want to share, but I am finding the significance in waiting to speak. Soon, I hope to benefit from the wisdom of listening.
