I don't really want to complain, but this has been a horrible day. I'm so lonely. All my friends here are working non-stop, and my other friends (you guys who read this) are all so far away. I just feel so isolated. My life now, no longer revolves around buying cheap cider from tescos, geology or exam stress. The other deeper problems are still ( Read more... )

Heres the deal Hannah,

Life away from St Andrews is a strange one for everyone.

For me its insight into a path I never chose - not going to uni and getting a job instead. I know no one in Dunbar. I have no friends here. My room is small. I've been outside of my house three times since I got back. I have no hobbies that would lead me to meet people. There is nothing to do in this town and everyone seems to be a moron.

But I'm happy because I know I've made the right decision about going to St Andrews. I come home for the summer and what keeps me going is getting regular exercise and knowing that I'll be going back in September.

I'm not looking for sympathy nor attention. I'm simply pointing out that you are not alone. The key to surviving through summer is keeping mentally active.

MSN also goes a bit topsyturvy over the summer. Its different from when you are in halls you dont go online because you are bored you go online because you are doing something else and want to procrastinate. Now that the summer is here we go online to attempt to do something so we dont rot away. Yet you can only speak to someone so many times a day on msn before you both have nothing to say.

I generally speak to people first on msn all the time unless i'm away or busy. Perhaps its because I suck. Maybe its because I smell. It could be that I'm just a boring person. How am I supposed to know if I dont talk to them? If someone is being a bastard online - just block them. Delete them if you have to. You wouldnt stand for such nonsense if they were talking to you for real would you?

Hummm I hope you take this as informative rather than a lecture. Posting like a moody old man wasnt my intention and it shouldnt be read that way.

I hope you feel better. Much <3,
Ewan
