LFS: SciFi AU
I'm looking for a story that I read ages ago. I believe it was neven finished. It was distant future. I think it wasn't aliens so much as diverging human lines. Chris, Buck, Josiah, and Nathan were part of the modified line, stronger & faster than mere humans. Ezra, Vin, & JD were plain humans.The diverging lines are at war. It _may_ have been a sentinel cross or something similar with partners who are necessary. Telekinesis may have been involved? Or at that point I may be getting mixed up with something else.
It starts out with Ezra, Vin & JD captured, and the others collecting them. They're basically prisoners but eventually become friends. I think there's some problem with teh 'superior' line's genes, which most people don't realize, adn they're too stagnant, or dying out, or something like that.
Near the end I remember they were visiting some world and there was an earthquake, and Ezra&Vin&JD were really helpful with search and rescue.
