looking for couple different ATF LB stories
The first one stuck in my head has young Vin and JD's caseworker (Nettie? Mrs. Potter?) making a surprise visit to Chris and Buck's house. No one answers the door so she goes around back to the patio door. Elvis is playing loud on the stereo and they never see her, so they never know she was there. The adults are chasing the kids around and 'teaching' them to dance to The King with the hip swiveling and all. She notices that the usually solemn Vin is laughing and dancing and having the time of his life with his new dad.
The second story (another ATF LB) is sort of an 'outsider!Ez tale. The guys are mad at Ezra for something and verbally berating him (whether he's there or not) in front of Vin and JD, calling him stupid threatening to shoot him. Vin runs away. Somehow Ez hears that Vin is missing and he leaves his undercover job, coming back to the ranch to help look for the boy, which makes Chris even more angry.
There another scene I remember and I don't recall if it's part of this last story or from another ATF LB story I'd also like to find. Someone is at the kitchen table cleaning his gun when he is called away from it for some reason. JD get ahold of the gun and Vin tries to get him to put it down. It falls to the floor and goes off. No one is hit, but the team find Vin cowering on the floor in fear, thinking it's his fault and Chris won't want him any more.
Tagged abuse and angst and bad temper because Chris's bad temper makes him verbally abusive toward Ezra and Vin feels Chris will feel the same about him. Protective Ezra because he leaves a UC gig early to look for the missing Vin.
