Ezra loses former wife, family
I'm reading an OW story where the rest of the Seven find out that Ezra had formerly been married to a black woman and she and their twin boys had been murdered. There is also a series by Setcheti (OW, with another version that ATF) where they discover that Ezra had had a wife and children killed by black soldiers in the last days of the war. (It's 95 degrees at 9:15 at night and I'm too hot, sweaty, and miserable to look up titles right now, but I did find them here.) I'd like to find any other stories where the others (not just the Seven, but maybe Mary or Inez) find out that Ezra's distant attitude is the result of his still morning his family and his hostility to Nathan at the start from the memory of the blacks who killed them. I suppose most of them would be Old West, but there have to be some ATF or other modern day stories. Het, gen, or slash; don't care if it's a good story.
