All right. I have been on a hunt for this fic for quite a while now and I am finally admitting defeat. I'm almost positive I found it through here but I can't find the original post looking for it. :(
It's an Ezra/OFC. Ezra is seeing the town's teacher (?) and is planning to propose. Except it turns out she was hired by Maude to make Ezra fall for her and then break his heart. I know she hits on Chris and says that Chris is the one she wants and Ezra is just a game to her. I think her name was Jenny (?) and she had red hair. She ends up leaving and later Ezra gets a letter where she explains why she did what she did. Basically she needed money and Maude offered her lots of it. And she's really sorry because Ezra is a wonderful man and if she could, she totally would've married him.
