Artist and mixer claim post
Hello all, we've come to another milestone in this year's Mag7 Big Bang, and that is the post in which artists and mixers claim stories based on summaries provided by the authors.
This year we've had 10 authors sign up for the Big Bang. One of them unfortunately had to drop out, and we still haven't heard from three of our authors. They have been contacted, asking to confirm whether they are still interested in participating. That leaves us with six authors, whose summaries you will find below.
As for he artists/mixers, we have six sure ones, plus one who has offered to act as pinch hitter in case of need. This means that we have one artist/mixer per story.
Information for Artists:
Art can take whatever form you like, so long as your writer is able to display it along with their fic. In the past this has included photos of artwork and crafts, as well as scanned pictures and computer-aided design.
If you are creating a fanmix: Mixes must be between twelve and twenty songs long. Covers are optional, but appreciated. A track list must be included. You can zip this up with your mix, but you must also include this as either a .txt file or in the body of your email when you send it in to the mods. Mixes must be uploaded to either mediafire or megaupload, as other hosting sites tend to expire links.

Story summary: For ages planet Ferzan of the Carribean System was the trade centre of the Galaxy - independent and strong, a safe heaven for everyone. But now there is a big conspiracy out there which could change everything, and not for the best. It's up to seven very different men (from computer whiz kid to disillusioned Starfleet Captain) to save the Governor and protect the planet. They might succeed or they might not, but in the process some fences will be mended, some friendships will be built and some long forgotten ties rediscovered.

Story summary: Unexpectedly and unannounced, Ezra's cousin arrives in town. Even though he thinks it might be intriguing to find out some more about Ezra's past, since he and the gambler have begun to look at one another in a whole new way recently, Chris soon has reason to wish the visitor from Atlanta had never come. The history between the cousins is brief but bitter, and the newcomer bears tidings that could break apart the Seven for good. There's been a family bereavement and Ezra, to his friends' secret dismay, stands to come into big money. And if Cousin Holt's prejudiced opinions on Josiah, Vin and Nathan aren't enough, what he finds out about Chris and Ezra could put lives at risk.

When the captain's shuttle doesn't show up to meet with the Maverick, the crew of the ship are in a race with time to find Captain Chris Larabee and Ensign Dunne's shuttle, while trying to figure out how to pull what was a peaceful planet back from the brink of war....

Story summary: The time is post WWII. A young teenager and his mute little brother Ezra arrived at Four Corners to stay two steps ahead of their stepfather Eli Joe. Due to something in their past, Ezra has stopped talking and basically communicates through a handmade plush alligator toy named Gatey. Think of Calvin and Hobbes in comparison. Young Vin Tanner and Ezra Standish are determined to make it on their own. They don't need fathers in their lives. But life at Four Corners is not easy and after a near tragedy, Vin and Ezra find themselves at Chris Larabee's doorstep. Chris Larabee has been grieving in his partially restored ranch since he returned home from the war with his fellow Army Ranger comrades. He'd defended his country but no one defended his beautiful Sarah and his son Adam from a fatal fire. He doesn't need, doesn't want to be another father. He takes in Vin and Ezra reluctantly and eventually, comes to realize that maybe being a father again doesn't hurt as much as he thought it would. But now, he just has to convince Vin and Ezra the same. This story is Book I of three in a series.

His quest to discover who he really is brings him to Four Corners after persuading a woman he has befriended to come with him. What he doesn't know is that his presence, along with hers, is going to flip the lives of the Seven upside down and nothing will ever be the same again.
