Posting summaries of your stories outside a cut

Oct 21, 2011 00:53

As a mod, please let me reiterate that you should not reveal any snippets, blurbs or summaries in a post or a comment in this community outside of an LJ cut.

Your summaries will be posted for artists to see on November 27, and based on those they will decide which story they will illustrate/create a fanmix for. Only then will the mods reveal the authors to the artists/fanmixers, and they can communicate about the story they will be working on together privately, via emails or other means.

Please take this as a well-intentioned reminder; it is not meant as a reprimand of any sort.

As an artist, I have now been spoiled for two stories. I know who will be writing them, and what they will be about. I can no longer choose those stories to illustrate. A part of an appeal of a Big Bang for me is the surprise of seeing who I would be illustrating for, and working closely with my chosen author. I do not think it's fair for me to be aware of the contents of an upcoming story because it gives me (as an artist) the unfair advantage of having more time to think about that particular story and perhaps even coming up with a possible layout well in advance of the other artists.

The time we have to create something to accompany the story is limited. I believe that all of us should have the same amount of time to prepare our graphics. This is my own personal opinion; others may feel differently. Still, I ask for the courtesy of posting revealing details behind a cut with a spoiler warning, or a highlight to read mask.

Thank you.
