Can't believe it's already December 5th!! Where has the year gone?? I'll probably post a more sentimental, wow-the-year-is-over post later. But for now I wanted to write about recent events.
Most recently (and of course most importantly), I just turned 23! That birthday kinda creeped up and came out of nowhere. BUT the celebration was great and FAR superior to last year when I got an ear infection (oy). So the week of my bday was Service Week for AmeriCorps. It was great. Hanging out with the corps was a great time. I got a little frustrated at times, but overall the group (my group) was great and got a heck of a lot accomplished. Our group dynamic was fantastic with me, Zeeba, Sarah, Mike and Rich in the same group. It's really hilarious, but I like it a lot. And we got some nominations for far, so yay! ALSO, I have been selected to co-emcee the event, which is intimidating but I'm also really excited for it.
So, Friday. The Ambassadors planned a cute little gathering at lunch where we all put on party hats and sang and Devin gave me some fake tattoos and a tiara haha. So it was really nice. Then afterwards, a group of us went to H&M to do some shopping where I bought a crazy, but tasteful outfit. So yay. Then me, Krystal, Sarah and Liz went to Sweetwater to get drinks and dinner and Mike & Sebastian met up with us later. That was a lot of fun just shooting the breeze etc. Then Seb and I went to Cambridge to get some Venezuelan hot chocolate, which was absolutely exquisite. It was really nice just hanging with him and we met this guy named Giovanni who worked there--he was really nice and we just had a great conversation with him. So yay for that! Then Saturday I had mentoring and it went sooooo well! I was really happy--and they got me a cake and sang to me which was really nice. Made me feel very special :-). Then I went home and ordered pizza with Alex, Ricky and Seb, followed by an outing to Club Cafe where we were also joined by Carrie and Katie. Lots of good times. Then we did gentlemen's brunch in the morning.
So things have been great. Things at work have been good, social life is going well too. This weekend Krystal and I went to see The Nutcracker on Friday night with Sarah and it was really good. I definitely enjoyed it. Then we went to Starbucks and hung out and chatted and laughed. It was really nice. Then last night, after a decent mentoring session, Krystal and I went to go see The Rockettes with Zeeba and her friend--it really was spectacular. I loved how glittery and glamorous it was, but it was also fun and amazing. The girls are soooooo talented it was crazy.
And I'm going to get brunch with the boys soon, followed by a potential afternoon date with Danny :-). Woohoo!
