Let the Summer Begin

May 22, 2010 08:28

Horary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  School is out so let the Summer begin. What a crazy, emotional, insane week. Here is just a little summary of how my week went.

< Monday: Loosing my voice

Child: Mrs. L are you sick?
Me: Yes.
Child: So that means we have to be extra good huh?
Me: That would be very helpful.
Child- runs around the classroom screaming

Tuesday: Much of the same shenanigans as Monday. It was Australia Day. Taught the munchkins all about Koloa’s. Did you know that baby Koloa’s eat their mom’s poop when transitioning from milk to food? That is the one fact my kids remembered. Lol

Wed- More crazy shenanigans. Voice still gone and kids excited for summer.

Thursday-Last day of school. Bitter sweet day. One child got send home for throwing crayons, shoes, pencils at me because he didn’t get a green piece of paper after he had chosen the yellow one. Mind you he has been throwing objects at me all week. My ninja reflexes are getting quite good!!! Had field day and had an absolute blast, until my “favorite” parent complained to the principal that I was man handling a student because he hit another kid, so I grabbed him by the arm instead of the hand and sat him on the ground for a time out. So happy to see that mom go!!! Principal was super supportive of the whole thing!! Cried like a baby saying good bye to my kids. They are my life for 9 months and its hard to let some of them go. Got lots of hugs and thank you;s from kids and parents.

Then off to drink a margarita.

Friday- Attend staff breakfast and vice principal announces that he has taken another position. Complete shock ensues. He is like the rock of our staff. You can talk to him about anything or just cry in his office and he doesn't judge. Frank, you will be missed!!! Told that our positions are unofficially safe. 9:55 principal comes running down the hall, she needs a kinder teacher to sit in on a Special Ed meeting. I agree. I am told this is one of my 2 special ed kids for next year. After about 30 min into the meeting, I am wondering why I agreed to do this. I can already tell next year is going to be a challenge. Oy!! Spent 1 hr 45 min in this meeting where a number of shenanigans occurred, one being Mom shows up after we have canceled the translator because she said she was not coming. Run out of meeting, to another meeting to discuss the other 4 sped kids we are getting. Teammates shoot daggers at me when Lydia(principal) says I am taking 2 of the 5. You'd think they would be happy that they only have to have one. Ugh...drama. Spend the rest of the afternoon playing a game of how much crap can you stuff in your cabinet since we have to pack up everything that is out in our rooms. Left myself several notes as to where I stuffed things and must go clean it all out in July so I am organized for next year. 4:00 rolls around.....DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another year is in the books. So relieved that this one is over. It has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Now I can focus on our trip!!!! *bounces*

How is my lovely flist doing. I have missed you all dearly!!!! There are sooo many things to update myself on. Which unfortunately will have to wait, since we have to head to Denver for a weekend of family fun and hopefully no shenanigans. XD

*BEAR HUG* to you all

Have a super weekend!!!
