grays inn

first day of class
im actually excited to learn this stuff as nerdy as that sounds
we listened to mcwilliams lecture for two hours and then came back to the flat
i lost my keys so someone else let me into their flat and i fell asleep on their couch
then we went back to the end for the finals of their moot court competition
some guy that looked just like harry potter won
it was really cool i was glad i was able to be there for it
they argued this hypothetical case where these teenage parents requested that their twin children be placed with a christian family but instead the children were placed with two gay men
afterward we got to dine in the great hall
the food was good and we ate with the law students and judges
including lord justice ward who is apparently a big deal
i ate with some guy i didnt know and talked to him for a while and then a barrister came up to us and talked for a while about obama or something and then i talked to "the commissioner" for about half an hour and i know everything he is doing this week and his story and the history of the inn
like he told me about how the hall was bombed in the war and that part of the wall was rebuilt using wood salvaged by a ship from the spanish armada and if i felt it i could see where the rope from the ship rubbed against the wood and left indents
then another woman took me back into the kitchen and showed me queen elizabeth's archway and the chimney they used back in the day and told me about how churchhill and roosevelt met in the room we were in and whatnot
amazing
i love how friendly everyone was and how quick they were to mingle with us
