Happy Birthday California!

It's Admission Day. Parking meters used to be free on this day, but no longer I think. A lot of people never knew that. (Grrr, I still can't get the next line space thing to work.) Yesterday I went to the Gatsby picnic sponsored by the Art Deco Society. I had not been in several years. There was a large turnout-700 people I heard. I found a shady space and set up my chair, table and read my newspaper and listened to the music. Saw some old friends. It was very hot. Ducal Prize was also hot. I sat gate, went to the Bardic evenings, won 2 raffle prizes at the Casbah, and ran into someone I had not seen in 25 years. I stayed at the Green Gryffon Inn. I slept very well and did not roll off the airbed. I am sorry they will be closing. I hope they find a new owner. It has made it possible for many of us to attend events. I hope to get to Oct. Crown, that will be my last chance to stay there. I am also hoping to get to coronet in Milpitas. I need to work on field heraldry. Next event is an English Regency dance, I need to gather serving dishes and card room items as well a make a new dress. I haven't had a new one from that era one in years-maybe in blue. I have a blue floral print in my stash that might work. Fingers crossed.
