Fluffed against the cold
Head tucked down away from wind
45 degrees in downtown Oakland, 63 in the house this morning. Sprinkles. Off and on rain predicted for Boar Hunt. I will try to avoid the wet dog smell! (I am a hunting dog)
Slow work on the 12th night garb. I need to include some silver for my 25th anniversary event.
I have pulled out all my blues, grays and whites but have not yet decided what to make. I can default to the light blue with white scallop shells, since my Pilgrimage will be ending.
I'm also making a lavender underdress with purple sideless surcoat for a friend attending. I am trying to get her back in after 20+ years but since she won't camp there is a limit to what she will want to attend. I'm hoping to find some more exciting fabric than my plain purple cotton, which will have to be lined to give it some body. Then I would need to do some embellishing. Some lozengy weave upholstery sort of thing would be good and save on the extra work. This garb just needs to be "good enough" for now. I'm sure I will get inspiration from seeing the garb of the ladies attending the Boar Hunt.
I just realized garb is short for garbage. Describes my efforts perfectly. Sigh.
