Nicer (Aussie) news
Sarah's Mum and Dad are up, it's nice to see them, despite the sad circumstances. Looking forward to going down to leicester at the weekend, though not sitting through our friends' wedding and reception. It'll be fine, i'm just a grump.
Anyway, Sarah did a really nice post about her Nanan, so I won't say much about that. I'm just going to post some nicer news to lighten the mood a little. We've had some great movement on our move to Oz over the last couple of weeks, but been slow to update on it because we've been busy.
I can't remember if Sarah posted, but she starts her job on the 18th August. That's 3 months! whoo! She also has details of her job. She'll be doing 5 rotations throughout the year, which will be...
1. Emergency medicine in Tamworth - this is a rural placement could include aero-retrieval... flying doctor!
2. General Medicine
3. Neurology
4. Emergency
5. Paediatrics
It's a good bunch of rotations, and there isn't any surgery, which she's pleased about. She's nervous about doing emergency first though, especially with the flying doctor aspect. I'm sure she'll be fine though.
next up is medicals, which we've had done. Chest X-Rays, blood tests and a general medical by a GP. The results of those will be sent to the clearing unit in Sydney next week so that should be fine.
And because we've got dates and it's all progressing, we've booked our flights! We're flying with Singapore Air on the 10th August, to arrive in Sydney on the 12th. So that means we get married on July 12th and arrive in Oz a month later. We'll be spending a day or two in Sydney before moving onto Tamworth.
Being in Tamworth first is good and bad. It's bad because it means we can't get a rental in Newcastle and get a home set up, but i'll be going with her and we'll have accomodation provided, she also gets paid more for doing rural work and it gives me 10 weeks or so to try and find work and to look for that Newcastle rental. Tamworth is 4 hours drive from Newcastle though, so I hope I don't have to make the trip too many times for interviews!
