It's started!
Sarah's in labour!!
She woke up feeling like she was wetting herself about 2am, which was her waters breaking. She called the hospital while I double checked the bag. She tested positive for strep b when they did the tests which means she had to go straight in when her waters broke rather than waiting til she was further along. Anyway, we got there and they checked all the usual things, monitored the baby for a while and put a canula in (eventually, took them 4 goes), then gave her the antibiotics.
As it's night time and there aren't many rooms on the birthing or delivery suites (they're busy tonight apparently), she's gone to the ward to rest and wait til she gets further along. So i've been sent home and i'll get a call if something happens. Otherwise visiting hours start at 10am.
So far contractions are lasting a minute and were 6 minutes apart, so it could be a long wait yet.
I blame it all on Teresa for leaving Sarah an LJ comment telling her to get on with it :p
