My mom broke her ankle last week and is laid up for the next four weeks. This is after the shoulder injury that put her out of commission for more than a month just in december, and the rotator cuff surgery she had just last winter. I think she's really worried that she will be fired from her work due to all the time she's had to take off.
It's starting to freak me out a little to realize just how fragile my parents are becoming. (My dad had a stroke 3 years back.) They are both about 60 now.
This month is going to be crunch. I really need to get some stuff done around the house before spring, and I can't afford to take any time off work because all of our worst bills are hitting us in the next few weeks. My credit card is nearly maxed out for the first time ever. And now I have to basically take care of my mom's house as well, since she's barely mobile. (Four hours spent cleaning out her fridge this saturday. Three words for you: November expiration dates. Ewww.)
