For those of you who use divination tools, what do you prefer and why: tarot or runes? (or another system altogether?)

Tarot. I just never got the runes. Plus, I like the pretty pictures.

Tarot, most definitely. I don't really identify with runes - at least not the typical system - but I'd be all for creating my own using symbols significant and/or representative of/to me. Due to my lazy and 'ZOMG! I LEARN BEST BY PEEK-TURES!' nature I find that finely detailed and overly complicated cards the most telling when doing a reading (for myself ( ... )

Tarot and antural objects, mainly. I can't relate to runes at all.

Tarot, specifically Rider-Waite deck. For some reason tarot has so many elements present within each card that my mind can enter the right mindset to pull relevance for the person I am reading for.

Tarot. Like the above, I think I need pictures. After my first Rider-Waite deck was destroyed by rain, I tried a series of other tarot decks. Some didn't have much in the way of pictures. The 10 of Swords just had 10 swords on it, for example, and I couldn't work with those at all. But I also had one with lots of pictures, but I kept finding myself trying to remember what the Rider-Waite version looked like in order to interpret.
