Yuletide Recs:
First off let me start with my four excellent gifts:
Sleepy Hollow
Syzygy Gen, T, adventure of Abbie, Jenny and Ichabod going to a Revolutionary War reenactment and end up fighting a Leviathan. It is in the spirit of the show and I am so happy to have received it. I was a bit worried about what I'd get since when I wrote my DYW letter I was leaning towards shipping Ichabod/Abbie but am now firmly in the Ichabod/Katrina camp so to get a gen adventure was perfect.
Las Vegas Casinos (anthropomorphic)
What Happens to Vegas F/M, Mature tale of love and jealousy -casino style. I asked for Caesar's Palace/Bellagio relationship with Paris Las Vegas as the spurned ex-girlfriend and the Venetian as the love Casino of Caesar's Palace/Bellagio. And that is what I got in all of it's cracky glory.
Otto and Victoria - Brian Kessinger
In Which a Diving Expedition Proves and Unexpected Delight Gen, G rated adventure of Victoria and her pet octopus Otto go for a dive in the sea and Otto gets to show her around for once.
While We Devoting Full Time To Floating Gen, G rated adventure of Victoria taking care of her pet octopus and deciding that his longing glances at bodies of water needed to be resolved so found away to join him under the sea.
Sleepy Hollow
In Learning, Teach; In Teaching, Learn Gen, G rated Four times Ichabod had encounters with Modern technology and one time he taught Abbie something. This is smart Ichabod marveling at tech not Ichabod being compared to an idiot child and not getting technology.
We'll Take A Cup of Kindness Yet Gen, G Rated. Abbie visits Ichabod at the Cabin and gets snowed in on New Year's Eve. It is Gen but hints in an Ichabbie direction but is in character fun fluff.
Elinor and Marianne Gen, G rated. Sneaky Corbin was sneaky and separately encouraged the sisters to read a certain book with the titular sisters in it. Years latter Abbie and Jenny came to understand each other from those lessons.
The Cat Who...series- Lilian Jackson Braun
The Cat Who Owned a Library Gen, G-rated. I know this has hit several other rec lists, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has been sometime since I read any of the Cat Who... books but reading this fic was like being back with an old forgotten friend. It seemed like it should be in a collection of Cat Who... short stories, every character (including the cats) seemed just like Lilian Jackson Braun wrote it and it was fantastic.
What's Your Number?
Nothing To Keep Us Apart F/M, Teen. Further adventures of Ally Darling and Colin Shea where in Colin's band hits the big time and through the fame, tours, and late night talk shows, Ally and Colin keep love alive and not stifle each other. An interesting glimpse into a possible future after the movie.
