quick Q: Ninjas or Ninja? An' yes, it does make a difference =) Ninjas denotes members of Ninjamasta Bandito, commonly referred to as the Bandit Ninja. These lesser "ninjas" are commonly seen in Kung-Fu Action Flicks and Saturday Morning Cartoons with their evenly-matched cousins the Generic Thug and (more powerful) Elite Troopers & Undead Warriors. Space Pirates occupy the rung immediately above the latter.
The Ninja (Ninjamasta Forsoothus ), however, rank in the very highest eschelons of the Villain/Hero hierarchy. Contrary to popular belief, these true masters of stealth and hand-to-hand mass destruction are never seen when on a mission, excepting only as a flicker of darker night immediately preceeding the decimation of a sizeable enemy force. They can be seen at this time only thanks to the truly awe-inspiring amount of style with which they execute these maneuvers.
My final take on the fight: Ninjas 0, Space Pirates---the lights suddenly go out. A flourescent flicker breifly illumines a flash of steel and an arcing ribbon of liquid crimson. When the lights return, ninjas and space pirates alike strew the arena. The last survivor holds a blood spattered white rose in his outstretched arm even as he breathes his last.
