In Lieu of Lunch

Time to update!

ICC was a bit of awesome. I only played in the 2nd session of Forsaken, but I was able to reconnect with several old friends from the Northwest, as well as meet co-worker Matt Mc, play board games with Melinda and my Sweet Babboo, and hang out with AJ, who made my top 10 list of Great Things about Atlanta just by being AJ. The parties were excellent with free booze and good friends, and the Succubus Club topped it off with a Fire Cabaret. (Insert joke here about their ringmaster, Charlie, being "hot." ba-dum-dum.)

To top things off during closing ceremonies CCPNA/WW verified that they're moving forward with electronic distribution via OneBookShelf, which - since OBS is us - makes me happy.

Sad news is that Kelley's role as Club Director will slowly go away as the Camarilla decides what to do with its newly authorized automony. Kelley, on the off chance you're reading this, you have been one of the best things for the club, ever.

Note to self: Study up on Classic Narcissism. Could have an effect on the club. That or cocaine.

(Sorry. It's the little bits of awful that emphasize the awesome. Bitter with the sweet and all. I'll try to minimize the snark.)

ICC ended. wolfwalker had to rush off to a meeting, so I missed saying goodbyes, which is prob'ly best since I'm homesick for Portland something terrible now, and I might have hidden myself in someone's luggage. I don't think I'd do well in an overhead bin.

The pics from the con have started coming in and all I can say is: Wow, the Chuck in pictures is a lot tubbier than the Chuck in my head. I'm trying to remedy that by (dum-dum-DUMMMMMMM)--

TURNING BACK THE CLOCK!

I'm using daylight savings times to get up an extra hour (7 AM, thanks for asking) to go work out before work. So far, so good. I'm 3 for 4 (today I used the extra hour to sleep). I'm doing half-hour sessions of light cardio this week, adding weight training as each day goes by. Hopefully I'll be at my normal 3 sets of 8 reps, increasing to 4 sets of 12 reps, for the major muscle groups by next month.

Also, I had a visit with one of my doctors, who switched out my anti-seizure meds to something new, so if I'm found dumpster-diving naked next week with no command of English except the Six Traditions of the Camarilla and Kellogg's cereals jingles, you'll know why.

As a side effect of workouts, pills or daylight savings, I'm actually getting sleepy when I get tired. That's usually not the case; it's not unusual for me to stay up all night. (Secret: Want to be well-read as I am? Try insomnia.)

And from LanguageLog,

And back to work...
