How did I find myself here? Drinkin english breakfast tea and eating cornflakes at 6:58am in TEXAS!
I've been here 16 months, and there are still moments of disbelief about that. Unlike last year, however, this year the thought is not met with dismay. Rather, it is met with happiness, contentedness. I was eating lunch with my department last friday, quietly chewing my tostadas, watching them talk and play and tease each other, when I realized for the thousandth time that family is possible anywhere. You just gotta get a bunch of people together that love and support each other. I have a family in Texas now.
