A student of mine, Gustavo, was helping me re-attach my weekly calendar whiteboard and hang up the individual goal sheets around it, and he was talking about how long my class periods always seemed to take. I told him
"Yeah, we always get a lot done in one period, huh?"
And he responded
"Yeah, you always talk for a while, then we do something as a class, then we work on our own..."
"It is a lot" I replied
and then he said something that I will always remember.
He said:
"Yeah, but nobody ever taught me stuff like in your class. I'm learning things I never knew... Like... I never knew how to write a summary before you were my teacher."
I almost died. There is nearly a tear in my eye right now. Thank you, Gustavo.
