Time for introspection.
State of the Jess 2009:
This was an incredibly busy year! I started it off with a brand-new job in January, which has worked out fantastically. My stress levels have dropped significantly. We bought our first house in March. We took lots of nice trips - a cruise to the Carribbean, a weekend in Cleveland, some time at the Jersey shore, and a trip to Jamaica. I gained a kick-ass sister-in-law. I finally took control of my health and have lost almost 30 lbs so far.
My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in August, and while the road through surgery and chemo was hard, she's through the worst of it now and we've become closer because of it.
Goals for 2009:
These are the goals I made last year:
- Finish my *#&$@ masters degree. Yeah, didn't happen.
- Pay off all credit card debt. Yeah, didn't happen.
- Be awesome at my new job. Kinda happened.
- See friends more often. Definitely happened! Despite moving farther away I have maintained connections and even re-kindled some neglected relationships.
- If we find a house, move in and furnish it without going into debt. So far so good. Our debt isn't from furniture, it's from school.
And now for my Goals for 2010:
- Spend more time with Kyle.
- Finish my *#&$@ masters degree.
- Continue improving my health (I have 20 lbs or so until my "goal" weight).
- Complete a 5K race (stretch goal = in under 30 mins).
